Happy Easter

Sunday, March 27th, 2005

Tomorrow, I leave for Kansas. The weather site says it going to be in the 70’s! It sure beats this Michigan weather!

I’m trying to think of something interesting to post about but nothing is coming to mind. Oh well…

Leaving messages

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

One of the things I dislike doing the most is leaving voice messages for people. I just don’t like it, why can’t the person just always be at the phone and pick it up when I call?!? or why do I have to call at all, can’t I just email or IM?!? I suppose that’s not totally reasonable. Anyway, it’s been rumored that I have, as of late, been leaving people messages. This is true. Here is an account of one of these elusive messages.

A Job!

Saturday, March 19th, 2005

Yesterday, I got a job offer from Ontario Systems. It’s a pretty good offer and I’m probably going to accept the offer. Living on my own will surely be an adventure. There are all kinds of important decisions I have to make. Such as, “Should I get one of those TU plates for my car, or just the vanilla Indiana plate?” and “Should I just use my cell phone or should I get a phone provider like Vonage?” I also suppose I’ll have to learn how to cook. And find a place to live. Does this officially make me a ‘Hoosier’? Humm… I liked the title ?Michigander?; it sounds like a breed of duck.

Odd

Wednesday, March 16th, 2005

It’s odd that when I rebooted my computer it said “Keyboard error or Keyboard missing” and then a couple lines down said “Press F1 to continue.” Well, if you keyboard is gone, how can you press F1?

I also give you an odd quote found at the bottom of Vic’s email:

Did you realize that a dying star going supernova can shrink from about three times the size of the sun (very big) to just 25 miles in a 1/10 of a second!!!? I found that fascinating. Not only that, but if you took a tablespoon of that matter, it would weigh the same amount as four BILLION elephants! Unbelievable. Spread the word.

Music war

Tuesday, March 15th, 2005

Lawrence Lessig has a good piece about the war between the music industry and music fans. Lessig has many good ideas about copyrights, patents and intellectual property and their effects on culture.

Bloglines

Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

I check many blogs from day to day. I’ve recently tried using Bloglines. Bloglines is an online RSS aggergator. It checks blogs for you and presents all the new posts in one spot. It’s also makes a nice way of keeping track off all the blogs. You can share you lists with other people. For instance, here is my list.

Cookies, Marriage and Japan

Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

Yes, all three of the things in the title of this blog happend to me this weekend. Well, sorta. Saturday afternoon, I went over to Tree and Dan’s apartment and they taught me how to bake cookies from scratch. These (delicious) cookies were for Alisse. On Valentines day, she had given me cookies in a tin. She needed the tin back, so I thought I’d surprise her with some cookies in the tin. She was really surprised that I baked and happy!

Later that evening, Alisse and I went to Tree and Dan’s for dinner. The made a wonderful Italian dinner. Later, Tree’s brother Brent, Brent’s fiancée Sara and Sara’s parents stopped by Tree and Dan’s apartment. We were talking and then they asked “So, how long have you been married?” It took me several seconds to realize that they had asked Alisse and me! After the initial shock, we managed to say that we weren’t married. In fact, we have only been dating 2 months.

Sunday was nice too. For dinner, we went to a Japanese restaurant in Muncie. It was really good. The odd part was we were the only people there when we first arrived. Even though it was odd, we had really good service :).

This week I’ve been pretty unmotivated to work on my homework. Mainly, I just want to drink coffee, sleep and watch TV. And by TV I really mean Arrested Development on DVD, and/or Furturama on DVD. Maybe I’ve been bitten by the senioritious bug?
