Let them eat steak

Sunday, June 26th, 2005

Yesterday, I grilled steak for the first time. I fired up the coals and cooked up some nice Wissman Homestead Farm beef. I used a recipe from a book that Alisse gave me for the spices to add. It turned out good. I also make potatoes and green beans. The potatoes did not cook quit long enough. It was still good though. I enjoy cooking, but most days I do not feel like making much so I just make something easy. Next on my culinary crusade: Banana Nut Bread.

Long time No Update

Monday, June 20th, 2005

Sorry for the long time in between updates. The most exciting thing that has happend is that I went to Chicago this weekend to visit a special someone :) (Oh no! I’m I starting to be sappy?!? oh well :) ). We had a good weekend filled with Ikea, Carrabba’s, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was too short though, and I’m back to work. Work is going well, still haven’t done any ‘real’ work, just training.

In other news, I’m slowing learning the Dvorak keyboard layout. Maybe someday I can use it to type faster and not get carble tunnel (sp?).

Lastly, a project that I’ve worked on for a couple years at the library has been excepted to sourceforge. There’s not much there yet but the address is http://tpas.sourceforge.net

Life in Muncie

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

I started my new job this week. It’s been going pretty good. Except for not having a chair for my desk but I’m not really there most of the time so, oh well. Mostly, I’ve been in training classes to learn how to use the software they make — nothing too complex. My apartment is pretty much set up. I still need to put things on the wall though. I have a desk and bookselves which helps out a lot. I’ll have to post some photos soon. I’m liking this living close to things idea. The other night was was going into the Village (college section of Muncie) to meet Joanna and Kristen at the MT Cup for coffee and I had 40 extra minutes or so. In that time I went to the bank and to Best Buy. Today I stopped at the grocery store on the way home from work! and Walmart is just a 1/2 mile down the road. It’s maybe alittle too easy to spend money :) City and Suburban folks might think I’m out of my mind but I grew up in the country were it took 10mins-45mins to get any where.
