Exhuast Problems

Monday, July 31st, 2006

So yesterday on my way home from the airport, my exhuast started sounding funny — like it had a leak.  It has been raddling for awhile, so I wasn’t surpised.  Whoever, when I went out to my car this morning, I was surprised to see my muffler hanging down on about a 45 degree angle.  So, I called shop that had been recommended to me a couple times (Cooper Tire in Muncie) and took it in.  I got it back at the end of the day.  No more rattle and I got a new muffler.

For those of you that know the history of my car, you will realize that this is not the first time I’ve had exhuast trouble.  It seems like something in the exhuast goes bad once a year.  I guess that’s what I get for always parking outside and driving on salty roads.  Oh well.

I’m also less than 1000 miles from 100,000.  I’d like to get a photo when it rolls over.

The One in Hotlanta

This weekend I flew to Atlanta this weekend for Pau and Ashley’s Wedding. I had really good time. There were lots of Taylor people there. Pretty much all from Gerig. This was the first time I was a grooms men in a wedding. I felt honored to be apart of their wedding.I stayed at Paul and Ashley’s apartment with Paul’s brothers, Ashley’s brother and Isaac. We had a good time. Friday night we went bowling. Although we didn’t start bowling until after midnight, it was pretty fun. I got a 138 and a 141. Paul got a 145 - the highest score of the evening and of his life.Saturday went pretty well. After the grooms men photos, we hung out in the infant nursery. After the wedding and reception many of the Taylor folks went out to dinner. It was good catching up with everyone. Some people are off to other countries for a while.

Here are a couple photos from the wedding:

Boy Cow

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Any farm savvy person knows that a ‘cow’ is really a female bovine that has had a calf, but apparently Hollywood hasn’t figured it out yet.  The commercials for the new movie ‘Barnyard: The Original Party Animals‘ are driving me crazy.  Not because they completely misrepresent the gentle, docile nature of domestic bovine but that, the movie has anatomically incorrect animals.  The main character, a ‘cow’, has a masculine voice AND UTTERS!  In fact, there are two ‘boy cows’ in the movie (from what I can tell from the preview).  Both are male characters, with female body parts.  This is proof positive that Hollywood has gone to trash!  I urge you, please write your Senators! This must be stopped!

Caught the BGLOD

Monday, July 10th, 2006

My poor D70 has caught the Blinking Green Light of Death (BGLOD).  I’ll have to send it off to Nikon to get fixed.  Good thing Nikon will fix it for free. The one weekend where I really need my camera, this coming up weekend, it breaks.  Oh well.  Don’t worry, I’m found some one to loan me their D70s for the weekend.

This past weekend was wedding 3 of the 6 I can make it too.  It was Melissa and Brad’s.   The wedding and reception were very nice.  During the reception, my camera broke :(.  After the receiption, Alisse and I along with Megan and Cliff went to downtown Chicago.  We went to the top of the Sears Tower and walked down to Millinum Park.  Over all, I had a good weekend.  The worst part was spending 2 hours going 3 miles on I80 right before I294 merges in.  The best part, is I had wait all that time to pay to get throught.  I’m definitly finding a better way to Plainfield for the next time.  Any one know of a good alternate route?

Home in Michigan

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

I made it back home to Micigan last night. It took longer than usual due to backups on I69.

I got a new pair of shoes for running today. Apperently, my old shows were too small. That might be the cause of my sore shins. Hope the new shoes are better. I should try them out this weekend.

My relatives from Texas should be getting here in any minute.
