Loonies worth more then Bucks

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

I was disappointed to read yesterday that the Canadian Dollar is now worth more then the US Dollar. The British pound is now worth more then twice as much as a US Dollar. Maybe I should dig out all that ‘worthless’ Canadian money I have and trade it in for some worthless US money. With this kind of advantage, maybe Canada will take us over and make the US the 11th province.

Dunes and Magic

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Last weekend was really fun. Saturday was a very eventful day. Alisse and I went to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Park and meet up with Joanna, Ashely and many other Gerig folks. After a big picnic we headed for the Mt. Baldy and the beach. The beach was very relaxing. After the beach, we headed back to Josh and Joanna’s camp site and had pizza sandwiches.

Gerig Hall Reunion

Alisse and I made a new friend at the reunion. Her name is Jera.

We were really sad to find out that she’s missing. Hopefully she’ll make her way back to Atlanta.

After dinner, Alisse and I headed back to her house. We meet Scott and Sarah and headed to the 3D IMAX movie theater to see Harry Potter. It was really good and the 3D effects were very cool.

Tomorrow, I’m headed back up to Chicago. The exciting events this weekend are: going to the taping of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and the book release of the new Harry Potter book.

Garden Update

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

My ‘garden’ is doing pretty well.  I added a few new plants since my first blog post.  They include a Stawflower (the yellow flowering plant) that Alisse’s parents gave me.  A Canna that my dad brought me from home (complete with Casco dirt). Lastly an Elephant Ear which I brought from a guy at work.

So far, only one plant has died.  My Cilantro was starting to flower so I cut it back.  Right after I cut it back I had to bring it inside for a week to wait for my balcony to be painted.  I’m not sure if it was the trimming of the reduced amount of light, but it died this week.

On a happier note.  I harvested some green beans this morning.  I’ll have to cook them up for dinner tonight.

Two weekends was Zay and Sopeak’s wedding.  I just now have had a chance to sit down and look through the photos.  Here’s one I really like.

According to Personal DNA I’m a Considerate Leader.

Here’s a the full report.

I was a little surprised at first, but the explanation makes sense.
