End of a Busy Summer
Tuesday, September 11th, 2007The summer is coming to an end. It was a good summer full of fun events. Here is a brief synopsis of the last few weekends:
A weekend at Camp (7/29)
Alisse and I headed up to Michigan to Simpson Park Camp. The family-church-camp my family goes to every year. It was nice to go back and show Alisse around and visit with friends and family. The speaker was disappointing.
The Chicago Fire (8/4)
No, not the fire the burned the City to the ground. And no, the Fire don’t play hockey, they are Chicago’s professional soccer team. Alisse’s parent’s had tickets for the game but they were out of town so we went. The game was exciting. The Fire had several good shots on goal, but the end score was 0-0. The biggest irony of the game? The Fire played in Toyota Stadium and they are have Honda sponsorship on their jerseys.
The White Sox (8/11)
I was back in Chicago for the White Sox game. Alisse is a bride’s made in one of her friend’s wedding. They had a party for the bridal party and they let me come along
. We had fun tail-gating before hand. We watched the Mariners beat the White Sox (
) from the very top row of the stadium. The most exciting part of the game was in the bottom of the 9th. The White Sox hit a Grand Slam but it wasn’t enough to tie or win.
Alisse Moves Back (8/25)
I helped Alisse and her roommate move into their new apartment. It’s a little small, but fits them well.
Meeting of the Parents (9/2)
Labor day weekend, Alisse and I went up to Chicago. My parents were in Chicago helping my sister move into her Gold Coast Apartment. On Saturday, both Alisse’s family and my family met for dinner. Sunday, Alisse and I saw Amanda’s apartment. Amanda is student teaching in Chicago this semester.
A break (9/9)
Nothing too exiting happened this weekend.
In other news
I have been helping Isaac with a new website for The Jar. We’re using an Open Source Content Management System called Drupal. It has been fun learning Drupal. The site should be launched in the next few weeks.
Also, I have been reading the Harry Potter series. When the final book (number 7) came out, I decided to read the series. I just finished book 4 yesterday and have started book 5.
Well, that’s about it for now…
