Portland, Chicago, Matthews

My trip to Portland went well. It was cloudy and rainy the whole time, so I didn’t get to see the mountains. We finished a day early so I got back early. My activities on the trip can be summed up with three things: sit in meetings, eat, sleep. I felt really gluttonous when I got back. I’d excreted just about zero physical effort on the trip while in taking lots of restaurant food (which the company paid for :) ).

This past weekend Alisse and I went up to her house in Chicago. We had a relaxing, low-stress weekend. We watched Batman Begins, which I liked a lot and What Lies Beneath, which was scary — I don’t like (most) scary movies. We also watched Alisse’s brother’s basket ball game. They won by 20 points.

On my back to Muncie, after getting back to Taylor from Chicago, I hit a raccoon just outside of Matthew’s. This big ol’ coon ran out into the road and put a huge whole in my bumper. It took out a good 1-1.5 feet of my bumper on the drivers side. The bumper was just gone. I ended up on the phone with the insurance for 40 mins. While I was waiting, I turned off my car and the lights drained the battery. It was hard to tell how much damage there was, so I ended up having it towed. Alisse and Erin came to my rescue. They waited with me for near an hour for the tow truck and drove me back to Muncie. I got a rent-a-car while my car is in the shop. The good thing is that this falls under my comprehensive deductible, which is much less then my collision deductible.

Here is me waiting for the tow truck, not looking happy:

Here is Erin demonstrating what the coon could have looked like:

I think Erin is going to use that photo on facebook. This is the funniest post ever… the expressions make it.
